Le terme cerisier est un <\/span>nom vernaculaire<\/span> g\u00e9n\u00e9rique qui d\u00e9signe en fran\u00e7ais plusieurs <\/span>esp\u00e8ces<\/span> d’arbres du <\/span>genre<\/span> Prunus<\/span><\/i><\/a> de la <\/span>famille<\/span> des <\/span>Rosaceae<\/span><\/i><\/a>. Ce sont soit des <\/span>arbres fruitiers<\/span> donnant des <\/span>cerises<\/span>, soit des <\/span>arbres ornementaux<\/span> originaires d’<\/span>Asie de l’Est<\/span><\/a> (<\/span>Chine<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Japon<\/span><\/a>) plant\u00e9s uniquement pour leurs fleurs et dont les fruits sont insignifiants.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les diff\u00e9rentes esp\u00e8ces de cerisiers donnent des fruits plus ou moins acides, gros ou sucr\u00e9s. Si les cerises sauvages entrent parfois dans la composition de liqueurs, confitures et autres plats locaux, les arboriculteurs ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 des vari\u00e9t\u00e9s \u00e0 plus gros fruits, destin\u00e9s \u00e0 \u00eatre consomm\u00e9s crus ou dans des pr\u00e9parations culinaires vari\u00e9es. Dans le <\/span>langage des fleurs<\/span><\/a>, le cerisier symbolise la bonne \u00e9ducation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
