Les premiers colons ont introduit les gousses de Caragana comme une source de nourriture pendant le voyage vers l&rsquo;ouest. Le caraganier est tr\u00e8s rustique (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zone_USDA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zone USDA<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2). Il supporte un sol pauvre et une fois install\u00e9, la s\u00e8cheresse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les gousses de Caragana arborescens contiennent des \u00abpois\u00bb comestibles au go\u00fbt l\u00e9g\u00e8rement doux-amer (50 % de <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sucre, 12 %<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> d&rsquo;huile 36 % de <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">prot\u00e9ines<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement 3-4 par gousse. Ils doivent \u00eatre cuits avant d&rsquo;\u00eatre consomm\u00e9s.
