Le fruit charnu, l&rsquo;asimine, est une baie comestible de forme oblongue, \u00e0 chair cr\u00e9meuse et dont le go\u00fbt rappelle \u00e0 la fois la banane et la mangue. Le tronc atteint une vingtaine de centim\u00e8tres de diam\u00e8tre. Son \u00e9corce, mince et lisse lorsqu&rsquo;elle est jeune, devient plus rugueuse avec l&rsquo;\u00e2ge. De couleur brune, elle peut \u00eatre tach\u00e9e de gris notamment lorsqu&rsquo;elle est jeune. La fleur de l&rsquo;asiminier a un charme d&rsquo;antan atypique qui fait son petit effet, mais ne collez pas votre nez sur elle au risque d&rsquo;\u00eatre surpris par la dissonance entre sa beaut\u00e9 et sa discr\u00e8te odeur de&#8230; charogne ! D&rsquo;ailleurs, comme les <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gerbeaud.com\/jardin\/fiches\/plantes-fleurs-sentent-mauvais,2030.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">autres malodorantes<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, sa pollinisation se fait principalement par les mouches et les col\u00e9opt\u00e8res.
